[Progic] How to Use the Daily Menu Media

To use the Daily Menu Media, you need to complete the following steps:

  • Create a Category with the daily menu items and images.
  • Create a template and assign the Category to it.

If the menu changes every day and does not repeat throughout the week, you only need to create one Category and one template, updating the Category content daily.

If the menu is fixed for each day of the week (for example, every Monday has the same menu), the best approach is to create a Category and a template for each day of the week. This way, you only need to configure the templates once and won't need to update the data sources again.

Let's go through the details of each step.

Step 1: Creating the Daily Menu Category

The Category is where the menu information, dates, descriptions, and images will be stored.

Go to "Content", "Categories", "+Add Category", and select "Internal Category".

  • Under "Category Type", select "Manual Entry" and click "Continue".

  • Under "General Information", enter the Category Name, select the Groups that will have access to it, and click "Continue".

  • Under "Text Fields", select and configure the fields that will be available for data entry and that will later be displayed in the Daily Menu template.

Typically, only the Title and Text fields are used. Be sure to review the character limits configured for each field.

Click "Continue" when finished.

  • Under "Image", configure the image size that will be displayed in the Daily Menu template using the Width and Height settings.

You can also use:

  • Circular Crop, to display all images in a circular format.
  • Rectangle Angle (%), to apply rounded corners to images (when Circular Crop is not being used).

Finally, click "Save".

If you plan to create a menu for each day of the week, create all five Categories from the beginning and use clear names such as:

  • Monday Menu
  • Tuesday Menu
  • Wednesday Menu
  • Thursday Menu
  • Friday Menu

After clicking "Save", you will be taken to the "Internal Category Editing" screen, where you can add posts containing the menu information.

Remember that each Category should contain information for only one day of the week.

Registering the Daily Menu

Click "Add Post".

A new window will open. Then:

  • Enter the day of the week in the Title field.
  • Enter the dishes and menu items in the Text field.
  • Add an image using "Choose Image".
  • Select the Group that will have access to the menu.

Finally, click "Save" to save the post.

If you want to create a template for each day of the week, repeat this process until all required Categories have been created.

Step 2: Creating the Daily Menu Template and Assigning the Category

To create the Daily Menu Template using the information stored in the Category, go to:

"Content" → "Media" → "Creative"

Inside Creative, click the Content Stock icon (the last icon on the left side of the screen) and locate the Institutional Templates category, where you will find the Menu templates.

Select one of the available templates. It will load in Creative with a preview animation and a sample Progic Category.

Click the icon that enables Categories in the left-hand column and then click the Double Arrow icon to replace the sample Progic Category with the Category you created.

When you confirm by clicking OK, the sample information will be replaced with the information from your own Daily Menu Category.

That's it!

Now simply give the template a Name, click "Save and Close", and add it to any Playlist or Campaign.
