[Progic] What Are Campaigns and How to Create Them?
Campaigns: How to Manage Advertisements and Scheduled Content
One of the most common tasks for Digital Signage operators is adding and removing advertisements from their advertisers.
With the Campaign feature in Elementar ManagerDS, this process becomes much easier.
A campaign allows you to define, within a Channel, how many times an advertiser's content will be displayed during a specific period. All campaign information is configured in a single registration, including:
- Media selection;
- Number of times the media will be played per day;
- Campaign display time range;
- Days of the week when the campaign will be displayed;
- Channels where the campaign will be shown.
To create a campaign, follow these steps:
- Click Campaigns → Edit/Add.
- Click Add Campaign.
Select the Campaign Media
Choose the media you want to include in the campaign (videos, images, and/or sub-playlists).
Supported formats:
- JPG or PNG images;
- MP4, F4V, WMV, AVI, FLV, and MOV videos.
After selecting a media file, its information will be displayed under Campaign Media:
- Name (the media name, which matches the original file name);
- Duration (media playback length);
- Dimensions (file dimensions in pixels).
Enter Campaign Information
Group
Select the group where this campaign will be displayed.
Name
Enter the campaign display name.
Start Date and End Date
Fill in the corresponding start and end date fields.
By clicking the calendar icon next to the field, a calendar will open, allowing you to configure the month and year using the navigation arrows (<< < > >>) and select the desired day.
To close the calendar, click "x".
The No Start Date and No End Date checkboxes can be used when a campaign does not have a defined start or end date.
When No End Date is selected, the system automatically adjusts the date to the current day.
Start Time and End Time
Set the campaign playback start and end times.
Example: Start at 08:00 AM and end at 07:30 PM.
Attention: If you have multiple campaigns within the same channel and do not want them displayed one immediately after another, add a small offset to the start time of each campaign. A difference of two to five minutes is usually enough for the campaigns to be interspersed with playlist content.
Number of Displays per Day per Location
Defines how many times the campaign will be played each day on every Player.
After setting the start time, end time, and number of daily displays, the system calculates the percentage of the used period and shows the estimated interval before the next display.
However, this calculation does not consider the media duration.
Important Considerations
Pay attention to the duration of the media and the number of campaign insertions to ensure that your Playlist is displayed completely.
Example:
A campaign with a duration of 15 seconds and 240 displays within 1 hour:
In this scenario, all campaign displays would consume the entire available time, leaving no time for Playlist content.
Days of the Week
Defines on which days of the week the campaign will be displayed.
Frame
A Frame can be assigned to be displayed together with the campaign media.
The configured Frame will only be shown while the campaign is playing and can be completely independent from any Frame previously assigned to the Channel.
Select the Channels
Before saving the campaign, choose the Channel(s) where it will be displayed.
To add a channel:
- Select it from the left column.
- Click Add.

Save the campaign.
After saving, the campaign will be active according to its configuration.
