[Progic] How to Use Instagram Media

Instagram Media is part of the Ready-to-Use Content package available in Creative within Progic Manager.

Just like Facebook, using a ready-made Instagram feed in your programming requires two steps:

  • Create an Instagram Category.
  • Create an Instagram Template and assign the Category you created.

After that, simply add it to your Programming.

Please note that you can only add an Instagram account if you know the account's username and password, and the account must be configured as a Professional Account.

Follow the step-by-step guide below:

Creating an Instagram Category

To create an Instagram Category, go to "Content", "Categories", "+Add Category", and select "Instagram". A new window will open.

In this window, complete the Instagram Category Registration. Enter a name and any relevant information, then click "Continue with Instagram".

A new window will open so you can enter the login credentials for your Instagram account.

After entering your Username and Password, you will be redirected to a screen requesting permission to access your account's media. Click "Allow" to continue.

A Token will be generated. Copy the code using Ctrl+C or by clicking the "Copy Token and Close Popup" button.

Return to the Instagram Category Registration screen and paste the code into the "Access Token" field.

After pasting the token into the "Access Token" field, click "Validate Token" to establish the connection between the category and your Instagram account. Once validated, your username will be displayed in the field below.

Select the Group that will have access to this Category or leave it set to "All" if no specific group is required.

Also select the maximum number of posts that will be extracted and displayed in the template. Posts are retrieved starting with the most recent.

Click "Save" to finish and wait for the Category to be processed. Make sure the "Last Processing" column shows the current date and a successful processing indicator, and that the "Status" column displays "Updated" (green circle).

Creating an Instagram Template and Assigning the Category

The next step is to create the Instagram Template and assign the Category you just created.

To do this, go to "Content", "Media", "Creative".

Within Creative, click the Content Stock icon (the last icon in the left-hand menu). To make it easier to find available templates, type Instagram in the name field. Select one of the available templates and a preview will be loaded on your screen.

In the left-hand menu, locate the second-to-last icon to edit the template's Category. Then click the Double Arrow icon to replace the current category with the one you created.

A new window will open. From the list of available Categories in your account, select the Instagram Category you created. Click OK in the bottom-right corner to confirm the change.

Finally, give the template a Name and click "Save and Close".

That's it! Your Instagram Media is now ready to be added to your Programming.

Note

Starting in December 2024, Meta (Instagram's owner) introduced changes to the application connection model through updates to the Instagram Basic Display API. As a result, any Instagram account used by external applications must be configured as a Professional Account.
